As I headed to my sewing machine today, I suddenly thought: “Sewing is magic.”
Then the last two lines of the following poem popped into my head:
“Magic”
Sandra’s seen a leprechaun,
Eddie touched a troll,
Laurie danced with witches once,
Charlie found some goblins’ gold.
Donald heard a mermaid sing,
Susy spied an elf,
But all the magic I have known
I’ve had to make myself.
Shel Silverstein, Where the Sidewalk Ends

How sweet. I am always amazed with poetry. My exposure has been historically limited because my reading time mostly had to be profession related. Thank you for this.

It’s hard to make time for poetry, but I end up reading it because of my kids. I never appreciated Dr. Seuss until I started reading it out loud to my children. So much fun!
